DESCRIPTION:First Annual Wild Brunch\nBy Ethan Plager, Grade 10, West Carleton Secondary School\nGet ready for a wild time with the Carp Ridge Learning Centre’s First Annual Wild Brunch! Organized by local high school students, this event kicks off an exciting new tradition of brunches featuring local and foraged foods.\nIn addition to a delicious array of wild, organic dishes and products, the event will offer fun activities for kids, making it a perfect outing for families—whether you’re a seasoned fan of wild forged food or eager to explore new flavors.\nJoin us on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Admission is free for kids under 5, $10 for ages 5-12, $20 for teens and seniors, and $30 for adults.\nAt The Carp Mess Hall, located at 2240 Craig Side Rd.\n \nPlease Note: Anyone interested in volunteering before or during the event is welcome to help forage the final roots we need and make dishes like wild parsnip root soup, lambsquarter pesto and sumac lemonade.  This time counts for community service hours for high school students.  This  would be on the Saturday, Oct 5 for prep and before, during and after the event on Sunday, 8-4.\nContact Katherine at info@carpridgelearningcentre.ca ( info@carpridgelearningcentre.ca )\n \n
