Check In

If you are staying with us at the B&B, we’ll do our best to greet you on arrival and show you your room. When you book online, indicate your check-in time between 3: 00pm and 10:00 pm. If your arrival time changes, please call 613-839-3211 to let us know.

If you arrive earlier than your check-in time, you can leave your bags with the B&B Host and explore the area. We don’t maintain a 24-hour front desk, so if you’d like to do this, please contact us in advance.

You may be able to arrange an early check-in. Check ahead to see if it’s possible.

Late Check-In

If you are going to be late checking in (after 8:00 pm), we will give you a code to unlock the front door, a note about your room and essential details, and see you in person at breakfast. We change our codes regularly for your safety and privacy.

Check Out

You can check out anytime before 11:00 am. If you need to leave your baggage with our B&B Host, arrange that with us when you’re checking out. We would be delighted if you sign our guest book and fill in a suggestion slip so that we can continually improve our services!

Our Food

Our meals are carefully designed to be utterly delicious and super healthy, with seasonal, local and organic ingredients, including delicacies wild-crafted from our woods and meadows.  Guests may choose from vegan and lacto-ovo vegetarian dishes for breakfast, adding in healthy meat, fish and poultry for optional lunches and dinners. We are well versed in accommodating food sensitivities, please see the registration form.

If you are coming for a healing stay, your diet will be therapeutically designed to meet your needs along with you or your referring health practitioner if you have one.

We have been feeding people healthy meals for years with delighted feedback. Repeated comments are that people didn’t know how wonderful food could be without animal products and how good it makes them feel.

Breakfasts are included in the overnight cost; lunches and dinners are available if ordered ahead.

We look forward to nourishing you—body, mind and soul!

Eco-friendly Facilities

Over the years we have been adding technologies to the centre that save energy, including a geothermal pump that heats the B&B building and its water as well as providing air conditioning—all for much less than propane and hydro.

The roof of the B&B building has a large set of solar panels which send electricity into the grid, reducing our hydro bills.

We have tried to use natural materials as much as possible, including wood, tile and marmoleum floors, pure wood furniture and natural fibres for rugs and chairs.  Our beds use some of the highest quality organic mattresses on the planet, created in a local plant, Obasan. Bedding is at least 100% cotton and often organic, and features Australian wool duvets.

Of course we use green cleaning products to avoid harsh chemicals and save money by using laundry balls in the washing machine and dryer balls in the dryer.

On the property we model two straw bale cabins and are very excited to build a hempcrete structure in fall 2017.

Across the parking lot from the Forest Retreat, our learning centre has two composting toilets that have been functioning beautifully for years, saving gallons of fresh water.

Noticeable from the south facing rooms is our large organic permaculture garden, complete with a deer fence. Guests are welcome to visit our herb garden, where we grow local medicinal herbs as well as ones from Asia. We are planning a forest garden for the summer of 2017.

Finally, the B&B and the learning centre are both recycled buildings, saving them from going to the land fill.

Business Facilities

In order to make your stay more convenient we created a beautiful business nook with a wonderful view.  It has a printer/copier/scanner and cables for your laptop.  We minimize WiFi for health reasons, but it can be turned on for specific purposes, such as work retreats.
