Zimbabwe-born drummer, percussionist and songwriter Derek DeBeer is coming to Carp. During a professional music career spanning more than 40 years, he has earned acclaim as a leading performing artist, working with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Johnny Clegg, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman and Robert Palmer.
Being part of a drum circle led by Derek is an exhilarating experience. He is able to inspire even the shyest person to open up into the African rhythms he effortlessly pounds out.
Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned drummer, Derek has a range of techniques to intrigue and lead you into new territory, challenging your perceived limits.
Derek loves to work with all ages and children especially respond to the magic of not only his drums, but his motivational exhortations to go further.
