Owner, Naturopathic Doctor, German New Medicine Practitioner

Dr. Katherine Willow has been practicing since 1983 as a fourth-generation naturopathic doctor via her family in Europe. Her specialty is the integration of German New Medicine (GNM) into her practice. In this new paradigm, one can connect biological shocks with conditions and determine whether a person’s symptoms are in the stress or healing phase of the shock.

Another favourite of Dr. Willow’s is old-style naturopathic medicine, which approaches disease with the simplicity of nature cure therapies: sun, air, water, earth and plants. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing complicated cases resolve as a person’s body and mind receive what they need to heal.

Sometimes our body sends us messages – tight shoulders, clenched jaw, worried thinking, unhappy feet, restless sleep, anxious breathing, numbness, and so on.  Often, these discomforts are compensation patterns.  We’ve all been through various injuries, traumas, stressors, fixations, challenges, etc..  Compensation patterns are one way our body ‘gets through stuff’.  They are likely necessary at the time they develop – but soon become habit, long after they’re needed, and then eventually what served us, becomes a limitation.
Kris is skilled at noticing and tracking these patterns in posture, movement, breath, tissue nature, fluid rhythms and perceptual states.  Awareness is the key to encouraging change, releasing compensation and discovering a more comfortable way.
All sessions are framed in the context of Somatic Awareness; getting curious about the language of the body and noticing what patterns are apparent and desire attention.

Kris has been in full-time private practice and teaching for over 30 years.   In that time, she has collectively trained in and taught various healing modalities, body centred therapies and movement methods.  She holds master-level certifications in many methods of Bodywork, Yoga, Conscious Dance, Somatic Movement, Energy Healing, Doula Care, Natural Health, Sound Healing, Nature Therapies and Wisdom Traditions.  She is a life-long, avid learner with a curious and joyful spirit!

She offers one on one sessions (in person or online) as well as monthly drop in sessions at the EcoWellness Center.

Spiritual Health and Wellness Healer, Teacher and Guide

Jean’s healing journey began in 2003 after being diagnosed with a brain and spinal cord tumor shortly after completing allopathic treatment for Breast Cancer.  Her daily survival kit included  a multitude of anti-depressants, pain killers, anti-anxiety pills, sleeping pills, medications to offset the recurrence of breast cancer, etc.  Deeply  committed to her  own evolution, personal healing, and truth Jean began studying and applying many different alternative healing modalities in order to heal her body/mind/spirit. She also let go of  all  prescription  medication.  Thus began a  fascinating journey where self-mastery, autonomy, rejuvenation, regeneration, and higher consciousness all become  possible.  Jean’s extensive tool kit includes and is not limited to Reiki Master, Shamanism, Universalis Modality, Neuro Linguistic Programming, WEL-SystemsTM Master Facilitator, Ottawa’s first Accredited Journey Practitioner, Cranial Sacral Therapy, etc.

Chandan Singh-Beatty

Certified Professional Grief Coach

Chandan has chosen to specialize in grief coaching because she is no stranger to loss. Throughout her life she has experienced many forms of losses and thrived. She is a Certified Professional Coach, specializing in Grief Coaching and is dedicated to helping others who are experiencing loss and grief in their own life so that they can embark on a new life filled with renewed meaning and hope for themselves.

Chandan Singh-Beatty is the owner and CEO of Beyond Grief Coaching and a graduate of the University of Toronto where she received both her Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees. She is a FLOW ICF Certified Professional Coach, specializing in Grief Coaching.  Chandan believes in the power and the magic of coaching, in creating and maintaining compassionate connections, and in coaching from the heart.

She works with adults one on one. The length of the sessions can vary anywhere from 1 to 1 ½ hours depending on where the individual is at.

Bette Madigan

Bowen Practitioner

One could say that Bette enjoys taking chances: while most people have one or two careers in life, she’s already had five to date — accounting, sales, applied research, volunteer services manager and owner of a Bowen therapy clinic. In 2006, Bette went on a spiritual quest, which led her to a mountaintop in Thailand with 60 other Canadians and a master for two weeks in 2006. “We were all expecting to find out what we would be doing next,” she remembers. “Nothing came, until two months after I returned. I was watching Dr. Marla Shapiro on television and she had a Bowen therapist on as her guest, and I thought, ‘this is what I want to do’.”

Bette opened Bowen Therapy Clinic in Ottawa in 2007 and operated for years, before moving to B.C.  Bette is now back in the Ottawa area and is practicing here at Carp Ridge EcoWellness.  She has her Advance Certification in Bowen Therapy.  Bowen work involves stimulating receptors in the tendons, muscles and ligaments of the body.  She helps patients of all ages suffering from chronic back pain, shoulder pain, sciatica and more. She especially enjoys working with young autistic children. “I find it beneficial,” she says. “I originally started working with children and I could see that they benefitted greatly in relaxing.”

Brenna Bellhouse

Yoga & Meditation

Brenna developed a love for movement & spirituality at a very young age, at the age of 8 Brenna’s father immersed her in the practice of buddhism and she learned the practice of meditation.  As her passion for connecting to her spirit and moving the body grew she enrolled at McGill University in a Bachelor of Education combined with Kinesiology and Religion and began to practice Yoga & Meditation regularly. Brenna became a professor at Algonquin College where she taught leadership, psychology, and fitness. This unique blend of psychological and physical knowledge qualifies Brenna to guide both groups and individuals through several categories of self-improvement. She has taught many training and workshops in mindfulness, meditation, yoga, adjustment and alignment. She also works with teachers and families to help implement yoga and mindfulness to help create a more present life.
