Soundscaping, Tree Canopy-Hammock Sessions

$35.00

If you want to experience more, be still and listen. Swing gently in a hammock while
gazing up into the tree canopy. This is a wonderful sensory and meditative experience.

Description

Swing gently in a hammock while gazing up into the tree canopy. A sensitive microphone system amplifies the canopy sounds to the point where a gentle breeze sounds like a wind train. This is a wonderful sensory and meditative experience.

40 minute sessions (3 sessions: each one with different participants)

Learning Points: Listening closely – awareness-relaxation in nature

Age Range: Intended for adults. Youth (12+) welcome if accompanied by parent

Cost: $35/person

Min/Max #’s: Overall minimum number is 7 people, 5 people maximum /session. Minimum 2 people/session to run that session. Ideally run 2-3
straight sessions with a 20 minute break in-between (e.g., 1-1:40; 2-2:40;3-3:40).

Experience: Chad Clifford Became interested in Soundscaping for the collection of data of species density and diversity for local land trust. Over the last few years I have led the Mississippi-Madawaska Land Trust’s soundscape monitoring program. I am also keen on making microphone systems for exploring the aesthetics of nature. Attained Natural Sound Recordist Certificate from Cornel training program in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
