Healing Stay Activities

Mornings before breakfast:

  1. Dew walk, weather permitting
  2. Meditation, on your own or we can set you up with a private teacher; group session Thursday mornings; alternately, we can recommend some fantastic websites where you can learn on your own with expert guidance
  3. Stretching/yoga: if you already have your own practice, we can lend you a mat and some delightful relaxing music; class on Tuesday evenings
  4. Forest walk: there are beautiful trails you can explore to get some fresh air before breakfast
  5. Journaling: the stillness of the early morning is a perfect time for some to delve into your thoughts and feelings; we have books that can guide you if you have never journaled
  6. Hydrotherapy: we can teach you some simple water treatments for your condition that you can do on your own
  7. Collecting herbs: if you are interested, you can collect wild plants for tea with Katherine
  8. Make a cup of herbal tea and go back to bed and snuggle in your comforter with a good book (we have lots)

During the day:

  1. Forest walk (self-guided or there are trained forest guides in the area who could lead you; ($))
  2. Journaling a specific topic related to your condition/s
  3. Inner work: we have developed a binder of healing exercises for you to learn more about yourself
  4. Spiritual exercises: using your framework of beliefs, we co-create a process for healing
  5. Sightseeing: Diefenbunker, KIN Vineyards, shopping, museums, Almonte
  6. Local nature: Fitzroy Park beach/trails; Carp Ridge trail; Morris Island
  7. Hang out with other guests
  8. Herb walk (self-guided)
  9. Bird watching (self-guided we can loan you binoculars and local bird books)
  10. Swimming at the local park or city pools ($) (if you have access to a car)

After dinner:

  1. Yoga: we have a wonderful, experienced teacher who leads Tuesday evening classes as well as a yoga centre down the road ($)(car)
  2. Browse our library of books and CD’s on health and healing
  3. Trail walk and/or meditation
  4. Hang out with other guests
  5. Sauna
  6. Local music: Mon/Celtic Jam/Carp; Thursday Alice’s Open Mike and more! (car)
  7. Local restaurants: Ridge Rock, Alice’s, Cheshire Cat (for a drink) and many more (car)
