CREWC Community Column

Thanks to Eco-Community Coordinator Kaia Nightingale, this aspect of CREWC is building a head of steam.  There are several parts happening in parallel which are intended to further manifest a flourishing, harmonious and successful community here over the next few years.

One:  We are planning 4 more homes and multiple cabins where people who would like to contribute their skills to creating sustainable community life can come and stay for trial periods while integrating with our current population. . . a sort of two-way courting process!  David Shackleton is spearheading the building of these eco-homes which will be available to  rent or trade for rent.  We received a grant from CMHC for research on the designs for affordable, environmentally sensitive and efficient houses.

Two:  We are clarifying our philosophy, values and community principles, studying longstanding examples such as Findhorn and Damanhur.

Three:  We are creating more activities for interested people to work and play with us — an important prerequisite before applying to become a community member.
